SPIRIT OF LIFE
Scripture Reading - John 6:63
It is the spirit that quickeneth (gives life); the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. KJV
In this verse is one of the most powerful truths of the Holy Bible. The truth is, “the spirit of God gives life”. Notice that the word “spirit” is not capitalized therefore many bible teachers would agree that the word is not referring to the Holy Spirit. We can also validate that this verse is not referring to the Holy Spirit because the latter part of the verse clearly states that the Word of God is spirit and is life. However, we (ihlcc) believe this truth is speaking of your reborn-spirit born of the Word of God. The moment you became born-again (in Christ) God gave you a portion of His very own Spirit. Since the Holy Spirit is in all Christians we know that He is our source of power. The Holy Spirit is the channel to unlimited power in Christ Jesus without any doubt. His life giving power is immutable and easily believed by the body of Christ what we must learn is how to use the power of God while we are here on the earth. Currently, we have on earth two avenues to maximize God’s Power in our everyday life. One is by allowing the Holy Spirit to influence our reborn-spirit to complete yieldedness (total surrender) to God’s Will and the other is the full development of the Word of God in our heart. One might ask, “How does the spirit of the Lord within me give life?” Good question. The answer is found in the second part of the verse, it is through speaking, proclaiming, pondering, and meditating on God’s Holy Word. In other words putting God’s Word to use through speaking and thinking is putting your spirit of God inside of you into action. This works because God’s Word is the most powerful force on earth when used properly because God’s Word is God’s Life which is power, revelation, healing, knowledge, wisdom, understanding, truth, judgement, etc... When you combine that with the spirit of God that possesses love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, discernment, the knowing of God, the unchanging witness, etc.. you become an unstoppable force like God. Remember everything you need is contained in the confines of God’s Holy Awesome Word when mixed with your reborn-spirit of life. You must know that God created you to be a Christian because His Heart’s desire is for you to be just like Jesus. Just like Him in Name (the authority of the Name of Jesus) in power (an anointed one) and in deed (operating in the spirit of life). The Lord did this solely because He loves you so much that He gave you His all and He made you His all. Just remember you have the “spirit of life” within you so that you can live life to the fullest in Christ Jesus. Amen!
